negotiating pay rates

Service Providers have an option to post shifts with a negotiable pay rate. When they do this you will see a negotiate option alongside the usual ‘Apply’ and ‘Withdraw’ options.

To apply for a shift and negotiate your pay rate is really quick and easy.

Part 1: Click on ‘negotiate’ next to the shift you would like to apply for. A pop up will open and allow you to enter the Pay Rate you would like for the shift. Once you’re happy with the rate click ‘Submit’.

You will see a success message on screen to confirm the application. A notification will be sent to the Service Provider telling them you have applied for one of their shifts and prompting them to review your application. You can view the status of your shift application in ‘My Shifts’ > ‘Applications’.

Top Tip: It will initially be shown as ‘In Negotiation’ and by hovering over ‘Awaiting review’ you can see the negotiation history.

Part 2: The Service Provider will either accept or re-negotiate. If they re-negotiate you can see this by checking the shift application in ‘My Shifts’ > ‘Applications’. In the example shown here the service provider has made a counter offer and you can view the history by hovering over ‘Awaiting review’.

You can make one of three options as follows:

  • 1) Thumbs Up - Click this to accept the proposed rate & book the shift

  • 2) Thumbs Down - Click this to refuse & withdraw your shift application

  • 3) Negotiate - Click the icon to launch the pop up and suggest a new rate to the service provider

Part 3: Again, the Service Provider will either accept or re-negotiate. In the example shown the service Provider has accepted the proposed rate and booked and confirmed the shift which is now showing in ‘My Shifts’ > ‘Upcoming’. You would also have received a notification to confirm the booking via Nightingale and directly into your inbox.
